CNSL Resin

Description

This is thermosetting as well as binding resin that is used for brake lining together. This resin act as a good binding agent and is the best modified Phenolic type as it offers required characteristics of a straight phenolic nature. Without the oil bleeding it gives much flexibility, good thermal stability and much impact resistance, which cause the decrease in the co-efficient of friction.

Application

It is used as one of the raw material in manufacture of asbestos and non-asbestos brake lining and disc pads and railway brake blocks.

Cardonal

Description

Cardanol sometime known as Card Phenol is manufactured from Cashew Nut shell Liquid. It is Monohydroxy Benz with the C15H27 hydrocarbon chain substituted in the position and it is a light brown liquid.

Cardanol is main constituent of CNSL. It is a Monohydroxy Phenol having C15H27 hydrocarbon chain in Meta position. It has a molecular weight of 300.

The unique Molecular structure of Cardanol, specially unsaturation of long Hydrocarbon side chain to make the cross linking easy on Polymerization and contributes to improved flexibility, good drying after baking, high electric insulation properties and thermal stability.

Besides, the side chain imparts hydrophobic nature to the polymer, its coating are water repellent and weather resistant. Cardanol based resins posses an outstanding resistance to softening action of mineral oils and high resistance to acids & alkalies, antimicrobial property, terminate and Insect resistance etc.

On the basis of the above properties Cardanol excels the petroleum based Phenol and can be a suitable substitute for it.

Cashew Friction Dust

Description

Cashew Friction Dust is made out of CNSL. The friction particles is used as a stability agent in brake products and it has got a resilient nature and it absorbs heavy impact and act as a cushioning agent of the engaging property of the lining. Further it is easily decompose on the surface able lining at various elevated temperature controlling the wear and acting as a protective device by prohibiting the excessive temperature being generated. It also easily absorbs the heat and disperses the same in the whole area of the friction material.

Application

It is mainly used as on of the prime raw material for heavy automobile non-asbestos and asbestos brake lining. It is also used in clutch facing and disc pad.

Arthalite Exfoliated Vermiculite

Description

Last couple of years we have been carying out on laboratory scale the exfoliation expertiments to arrive at the most suitable exfoliation process by which the peak value of the exfoliation is achieved which will increase the thermal insulation value to the maximum and also the bulk density is brought to the lowest possible level ensuring the minimum weight of the exfoliated vermiculite to be used for a given floor area when used as a filler in numerous application. Thus, the ARTHILITE is born which is the trade name we have given for the entire range of the exfoliated vermiculite manufacture.
